AusBiotech, Australia’s peak body for the life sciences sector, is delighted to announce the appointment of Tamlyn O’Connor as their new Head of Global Trade and Partnerships. The role is part of the AusBiotech and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) TradeStart partnership, designed to accelerate the global growth of Australian life science companies.

In her new role, Tamlyn will support biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical technology, and digital health companies to scale and grow internationally. Embedded within the AusBiotech team, Tamlyn will work directly with life sciences companies across Australia, connecting them with Austrade’s global services, networks, and export programs.

AusBiotech is the first life sciences peak body to join the TradeStart network as a national partner, joining peak bodies from other sectors in the program.

Tamlyn brings more than 20 years of experience across life sciences industry development, communications, stakeholder engagement and trade, in both the public and private sectors.

She brings a strong track record of generating and facilitating translational research and commercial collaboration opportunities with global partners and innovation networks, driving growth for the Australian life sciences sector.

Passionate about advancing Australian innovation and impact, Tamlyn has delivered a suite of successful ecosystem activation campaigns in her previous roles with Johnson & Johnson Innovation, AusBiotech and MTPConnect, championing the commercial success of local innovators.

She is also a dedicated advocate for diversity and inclusion, having developed programs that support the advancement of women in life sciences leadership roles and strengthen Australia’s future talent pipeline.
