AusBiotech and Taiwan Bio Industry Organization sign MOU to strengthen global life sciences collaboration
23 Oct 2025
AusBiotech, Australia’s peak industry body representing more than 3,000 life sciences members, has formalised a new partnership with the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization (Taiwan BIO), which represents Taiwan’s innovative life sciences and biotechnology sector and works to connect the Asian ecosystem globally to drive impactful innovation.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) marks a new chapter in strengthening collaboration between Australia and Taiwan’s thriving life sciences sectors.
This MOU reinforces Australia’s deep interconnectedness with the global life sciences ecosystem, recognising that trade, innovation, and international relationships are critical to the success of AusBiotech’s members and the broader biotechnology industry.
With more than 1,600 Australian biotechnology and medical technology companies operating in global markets, the Asia–Pacific region remains a significant and growing focus for partnerships, research, and investment.
AusBiotech Chair, Dr James Campbell said: “We are thrilled to deepen our collaboration with peer organisations across the life sciences sector. This MOU reflects our commitment to building enduring global relationships that help drive innovation, commercialisation, and the sustainable growth of Australia’s biotechnology sector.”
Dr Lee-Cheng Liu, chairman of Taiwan BIO, the first and the most cross-disciplinary biotech industry association established in Tiawan since 1989, said: "Collaboration without boundaries is the spirit of the MOU, that will enhance the global impacts from biotech hubs of Oceania and Asia, Australia and Taiwan."
The signing took place during the AusBiotech International Conference 2025, Australia’s largest life sciences conference, celebrating innovation, collaboration, and international engagement across the biotechnology and life sciences community.
