AusBiotech announced the election of Linda Peterson as a Director at today’s Annual General Meeting – an addition that will bring 30 years’ experience from across the breadth and depth of the sector.

Linda Peterson is Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary of BioCurate, a joint initiative between Monash University and the University of Melbourne, with Victorian State Government support, that works to translate medical research outputs into high quality pre-clinical candidates for the bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Linda holds experience across academic, translational research, start-up and the commercial life sciences sector, and has held positions in medical research, industry R&D services, business management, and C-Suite executive leadership.

Her scientific training, extensive management experience at all levels, together with her long-held passion for the sector and strong people skills, enables Linda to provide the critical ‘interface’ for effective cross collaboration and delivery of challenging research and business goals.

AusBiotech Chair, Michelle Burke, said, “On behalf of the AusBiotech Board, we warmly welcome Linda to her new role. She brings an experienced perspective from across the life sciences pipeline, and together with her strong network and commercialisation experience, will be a valuable contribution to the team’s strategic leadership.”

Newly elected AusBiotech Director Linda Peterson said, “Working alongside people with the shared goal of building the life sciences sector and delivering real world impact has always been my passion – so I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the AusBiotech Board and contribute to their important work.” 

As the first (and sole) staff member of BioCurate, Linda led and project managed the initial set-up of all aspects of the company’s operations. With its foundations in place, Linda’s role shifted to responsibility for recruiting the BioCurate team and ensuring operations, financial management and governance of the Company were effective and continually adapted to the changing requirements of the business.

Prior to joining BioCurate in 2016, Linda was the Executive Manager of Bionics Institute and CEO of Bionic Enterprises.
